The Exiles Entertain With An Evening Of Traditional Folk Standards, Blues And Shanties
Friday 24th 7pm No.48 Devonshire Rd. Bexhill.
This versatile 7 piece group use a range of instruments from harmonica, to accordion, and ukulele to banjo. Delivering a wide range of music from classic Irish, Scottish and English folk standards to classic Sea Shanties and even moody blues.

Stepping Out To Sidley In World War Two
Sunday 26th 14:00-16:30 Sidley Car Park, Ninfield Road, Sidley (opposite Lidl). Bexhill.
This is a new addition to our repertoire of War Walks. For those not evacuated there was the strain of years of alerts, sirens, uncertainty and concern for those serving overseas. We will investigate how the war affected the community, its people and buildings, discover the sites of air raid shelters and visualize the effects of two air raids. The walk, lead by David Hatherell, is 2½ miles long. There is a charge of £3 for adults and £1.50 for accompanied children. Sorry but all walks are unsuitable for dogs. Gas masks and tin hats optional.

Bexhill Hospital Garden Party

Stalls, side-shows, live music plus a bouncy castle/slide for the children are part of the line-up for this year's annual Bexhill Hospital Garden Party on Saturday, June 15th. The event, organised by the League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital, is the charity's main showcase for its work in support of local patients.

Look Who's Walking - A Coastal Charity Walk

Look Who's Walking is a sponsored night time walk taking place on the 15th June 2013, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event is open to anyone who would like to join us.

The walking route will take us from the Old Town of Hastings, directly along the coast to the finish line at Beachy Head in Eastbourne. We aim to depart at sunset, and arrive at sunrise.

Join us for a stroll at low tide to visit the wreck site of the East Indiaman the ‘Amsterdam’, which ran aground in 1749 between Bexhill and Hastings. Hear the story as we cross the cliffs before descending to the beach. Be prepared for shingle and wet sand. We will also look at why the shore has been made part of the new Coombe Valley countryside Park Project. The walk, lead by Heather Morrey, is 3 miles long. There is a charge of £3 for adults and £1.50 for accompanied children. Sorry but all walks are unsuitable for dogs.

Stepping Out To Explore Around Buckhurst Square
Wednesday 10th 2 pm Town Hall, Buckhurst Square. Bexhill.
This is the fourth and final walk centred on the projected Bexhill-on-Sea Heritage Trails. Take another circular tour and hear about, amongst other things, a long-silent cinema, the final home of an inventor of the world’s first practical television system, a 35-year-old piece of public art, the railway station that still echoes to the sound of steam and an often over-looked sculpture of Queen Victoria. Meet at the Town Hall, Buckhurst Square, Bexhill at 2 pm. The walk, led by Paul Wright, is 2 miles, 2 hours; easy walking. There is a charge of £3 for adults and £1.50 for accompanied children. Stepping Out To Discover Coombe Valley
Wednesday 24th 2 pm Car park at the Hastings Garden Centre, Bexhill Road. Bulverhythe.
Kim Richards is Community Leader for the Coombe Valley Countryside Park. She works for Sussex Wildlife Trust and recently was joint presenter of a very successful museum lecture. The walk will cover many aspects of wildlife and the environment but the actual route will be decided nearer the time when Kim has assessed the progress of the Link Road workings.

Meet at the car park at the Hastings Garden Centre, Bexhill Road, Bulverhythe. Distance is around 3 miles, taking 2½ hours. There is a charge of £3 for adults and £1.50 for accompanied children. Sorry but all walks are unsuitable for dogs.
