Thank you for visiting our website and for taking an interest in Bexhill-on-Sea.

Whether you are doing research into our history or planning a visit we have so much to offer and welcome your interest. Bexhill has undergone so many changes throughout its rich history and is still undergoing change.

We are trying to preserve its charm and character while aiming to provide quality regeneration.

It is my privilege and pleasure to serve as Mayor and to welcome you to the finest safest town in the south east.

Introducing Councillor Stuart Earl.
Town Mayor of Bexhill-on-Sea 2004/05

Councillor Stuart Earl was born in Bexhill-on-Sea and has spent the whole of his life living in the Town.

Stuart's family came to Bexhill in the early 1900's and started a family Bakery and Grocery business in 1921. Stuart was the third generation to run the family business which is still thriving in the hands of the fourth.

Stuart's hobbies include being a member of a local Rotary Club which has given him the opportunity over many years to serve the Community.

Stuart became a Councillor with the sole aim of serving the Community that had supported his family for so many years.

Having pride in the Town and the Community is so important to him.

He has been involved in many organisations serving as Chairman of the Traders Associations, is past President of the Chamber of Commerce and is currently a Director of the Bexhill Regeneration Partnership.

Both as Councillor and as Mayor, his aim is to restore civic pride for every resident and to pass to the next generation a town to be proud of, which will offer opportunities for the young to prosper and the not so young to enjoy.

With numerous voluntary organisations offering so many of the wonderful activities and services, it was always going to be difficult for him to chose a charity, but he has selected two. "CROSSROADS" an organisation which offers support and care for Carers and "1066 SPECIALS" a local football team for handicapped children which is providing opportunities for disadvantaged young people to receive professional training and support. It also gives them the opportunity to have as much fun as everyone else.

Donations for these excellent causes may be sent to The Mayor's Charities, Town Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX.

Stuart is looking forward to representing Bexhill and will do all he can to promote the Town, its organisations and people.
