I'm All For It!

I'm very much in support of having another train station at Glyne Gap. It would drastically cut down the percentage of people driving along Bexhill Road, and therefore reduce the long tail-backs and general congestion at peak times. It would also significantly reduce the pollution. I'm not a car-driver, and would definitely go by train to Glyne Gap ~ far more reliable than waiting around for delayed buses in all weathers. Seeing Marks and Spencer have plans to build another store at Ravenside, the volume of traffic is going to increase rapidly. Having a train station at Glyne Gap would hopefully also mean there would no longer be any need for a costly by-pass to be constructed, which will destroy part of our beautiful countryside and the flora and fauna, and shift the noise and pollution to a presently quiet and tranquil area of East Sussex.

A station at Glyne gap is well over due,Im amazed that there still isnt anything concrete being done to install a station there, it would greatly help out the local traffic situation,

Lets Work Together For A Train Station Stop At Glyne Gap

With a new marks and spencers due to be completed in 2014 at ravenside, the current bexhill to hastings road will be a nightmare for drivers and commuters waiting for a bus between the towns,it already has a very slow annoying rate of flow of traffic. If a train station stop at glyne gap was created this would dramatically cut down on the congestion on this road, how many times have people like myself been waiting at a 99 bus stop for a stagnant 99 on this road, whilst a train would pass us going to bexhill or hastings.Everyone who is in favour of this idea lets stand together, the relief road is going to take years to do if this does ever happen, also with our last few years of snowy weather the bus services come to a stand still, stopping people travelling to schools and work because of this when a station stop would greatly improve the situation. In the mean time our children and ourselves would greatly benefit from just a train stop at glyne gap to help us get to school and work please lets get together to try to create this,we deserve a solution to this long never ending problem when this could easily be resolved.

Not Sure It's Viable.

I am not sure that a station at Glyne Gap would it solve the traffic problem.

1) Mostly only people without cars would use it.

2) I can't see people lugging the weekly shop to and fro from stations when all they have to do is take to the car. How many people live near enough to a station to be able to use it for major shopping trips, I would't want to carry a bag of cement or 6 litres of milk.

3) The new byepass will solve most of the through trafic problems, not every vehicle on the A259 goes to Ravenside.

4) It would be cheaper to go by car.

For those in favour of a train, why not have a Dotto train running along the seafront, a lot cheaper than installing a station.

I think it sounds good but the local residents might not. It would I think attract working people as they probably don't enjoy being stuck in traffic travelling at 5mph. They would though need somewhere to leave their cars in order to get to the train which doesn't reduce vehicle numbers, just displaces the busy times.
