Business Sponsor For Special Kids Bexhill

posted by Paul Minter on 04 Sept 2012 at 2:33 pm

Hi everyone, we run a local non profit organisation / charity called Special Kids Bexhill. Unlike other local charities we are for all children / young adults with disabilities, not one specific disability.

We run private hire holiday activities - Bexhill swimming pool, a cinema in Hastings, Froggies soft play and the Ski slope at Knockhatch.

For a couple of years my wife and I hired these places with our own money and divided the cost with friends old and new. However things grew and health professionals started referring families to us and we have taken the step to a non profit organisation and if things continue will be a full charity before long.

Because of the size things have got to, and because some of our parents in most need have the least money, we are looking for local companies to Sponsor an event for a complete year - starting in 2013.

Any company that is interested please contact Special Kids Bexhill. We are on Facebook, Twitter.

Also if anyone knows of business meetings where we could present our charity to many businesses at once.

Paul Minter. Trustee Special Kids Bexhill.

Yesterday we paid a cheque for ?1000 to sponsor Froggies soft play at Knockhatch for the whole of 2013, into the Special Kids Bexhill bank account. This will reduce the cost of each child attending from ?5 to ?3.

We are still looking for sponsors for swimming at Bexhill pool, cinema at Electic Palace Hastings and ski slope at Knockhatch. Also a coach company or sponsor for our summer trip to LegoLand which will be 2 perhaps even 3 coaches.

Anyone wishing to know more we are on Facebook, page and group and Twitter - Special Kids Bexhill.

We have a stand at tomorrow's 1066pods event 11-2pm Bexhill Leisure Centre. On Monday a Pampered Chef / coffee morning 10-12 at 135, Dorset Road, Bexhill. Also a meal at Poppins, after it closes, with Uncle Bumble and Harry Hastings on 5th October and a Quiz night at the Down Home Guard club on 9th November at 7.30pm. So it's all happening!

Mostly though if you have special needs children or young asults or work in schools/ special needs anywhere in East Sussex please tell people about us and join the group. We have members from Rye to Brighton and inland to Battle and beyond. We are growing daily and help each other every day with support & information through the Community champion scheme.

People may have read in the Bexhill Observer about the kind donation of ?295 we received. This will help Special Kids Bexhill take disabled children and their families from all over East Sussex with ALL disabilities on a coach trip to the Science Museum, London at Easter. Thank you very much to Hastings Direct and for all the other help and advice they continue to give us and many other local charities.

If you are a local business and have read the articles for the last 3 weeks in the Bexhill Observer, please also read this week's Bexhill Observer for a more detailed piece about our group. If you want to advertise your business why not sponsor one of our events for the whole of 2013. Get your company seen not just once but for a whole year across East Sussex on Facebook & Twitter.

We are also looking to have a Special Kids wrap put on our 9 seater mini bus with our sponsors company logos and the places where we hold our activities. Be seen DAILY around Bexhill and across East Sussex and have customers know you support disabled children locally.

Special Kids Bexhill are going to the White Rock Pantomime - Peter Pan. We'd like to thank Ian Bloe of ASD Bright Ideas for sponsoring this, also to the White Rock themselves for offering cheaper tickets to our disabled group.

May we also thank the Azur for their kindness and price reductions, and the individuals who generously donated to reduce the cost of the Special Kids Bexhill Christmas party.

More sponsors are coming forward and I hope to be able to mention them public ally soon. If you would like to know more and possible sponsor Special Kids Bexhill - http://www.specialkidsbexhill.com
