St John`s School

posted by Sue on 03 Sept 2013 at 11:29 am

I have been given a very interesting postcard of "St John`s School, Bexhill-on-Sea" The post mark is dated 11 June 1937. I will willingly scan it and send it to people who have asked for information about the school on your message board. How do I go about this?

St Johns School Bexhill On Sea

posted by Brian Humphreys on 17 Mar 2014 at 5:34 pm

I am researching the life of a Jean Fawcett, an old girl of this school. She is now in her 91st year living in Crowle, Worcs. and became a Naval Intelligence Officer in WW2. I would love to include the Post Card in her story. She says her memories aren't good and that her father selected it for its discipline and cleanliness!
Thanks

WW2 Occupation By Army

My father was a Private medical orderly during WW2 and spent up to 4 years in Kent and Sussex. Records show that his unit, 130 Field Ambulance was located here during April May June 1944. They departed 16 June for the docks in London to embark for Normandy. Do you know of any information on this period?

The location was given as St Johns School so I presume it was commandeered by the army.
