Girl Guides Camp, Cooden, In 1930s

posted by Patricia on 30 Jan 2010 at 10:39 pm

Can anyone remember or tell me of the location of a Girl Guides Camp in the Cooden area (near the sea) in the 1930s? An elderly Australian friend remembers spending 10 days there 1932 or 1934 as a child, and wondered what happened to the site. Thanks.

Our family camped at Normans Bay, not far from Cooden. It was mainly tents in the 40's and 50's. Although not far from Bexhill, we always looked forward to our summer holidays. You could buy an icecream at Alices' shop, for a special treat.
