New To Bexhil

Hi Shirley,
I hope you are feeling more settled now. I agree, stuf to do at night does seem rare in Bexhill for us more mature girls. There are some groups like Singing for Fun, Weds at Parkhurst Methodist hall I think, you don't have to be able to sing well but you might meet people there? WI at St Augustine's aimed at younger (you qualify) on Weds, this month 21st July, hope this helps a bit. Take care, Sheila

Hi arrived here to live last January amid the Snow. Don't know anyone here, except my Mum and son's College. College can't have anything socially to do with parents. "Singular"
Still looking for a life and wondering if there is one here. Will anyone let me know I am in my mid 50s but haven't matured as yet!

Help Me Too.....

I am a young thinking 55 year old that loves music and I have moved here in January from Croydon. As you know the change is immense. I moved because my son was at a local special school. But it really isn't easy to make friends here and I thought it would be. You see I really don't like knitting or bowls which is fine for some maybe in 10 years or so. Meanwhile I want to get out, somewhere! Carol

I am 46 and looking for a social life in Bexhill. I work during the day and therefore looking for something to do in the evenings. There are plenty of activities for the retired but not for my age group. Can anybody help. Jenny

Things To Do In Evening

Hi Jenny. There has been a recently formed group called ChatterBex which had a meet up last night at Cafe No. 48's open mic night. It's for the 50ish (really, mid 40s to probably 60s). It's in the early stages, but we had eleven people turn up last night. We plan to have daytime and evening meet ups and are open to any and all suggestions. It started through the Bexhill Freegle Cafe (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BexhillFreegleCafe/) and as of this morning, we've got a Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_194167287284385&ap=1)

Loads of the people are relatively new to Bexhill or have only been here a few years and everyone is welcome!

all the GUYS!!?
The newly-formed Group is proving to be a huge success amongst aged 55(ish) Bexhill residents. But the majority of new members are female. This is NOT a 'Singles' Club (and many hubbys 'join in', but the few single males who have joined are feeling conspicous!! You can't have too many friends, so come on guys, join 'ChatterBex' on Facebook or email me jellylegs61@yahoo.co.uk We need you to stoke the barby!!
