Survey With Regards To A Pier In Bexhill

posted by Peter Fell on 10 May 2007 at 8:33 am

In the light of Bexhill needing regeneration and in my view the council living in the past and on the past glories of how Bexhill once was. I often think about ideas that could bring more people to visit Bexhill. One idea I have had for sometime is the building of a pier. There has not been a pier built on the coast in the uk for many many years. I believe a pier in Bexhill opens the way for much buisness opportunities. The sea fishing community could use it, shops, even boat trips around the bay, plus other ideas. But the fact that a pier has not been built for years, that in itself would bring people into Bexhill, tourist, buisness development because of the increase of visitor etc.
I would therefore like to hear the opinions of people via this website and I would like to start a survey on this website.

The question is WOULD YOU BE IN FAVOUR OF A PIER BEING BUILT IN BEXHILL OR NOT?

I'm definitely in favour of a Pier. As you say Peter it would attract more people to our town.

Almost at every main seaside resort in the south coast had one and I believe Bexhill used to have one in the 1910's. I am in favour of Peter?s idea for a proposed new pier which would certainly attract tourists and local people.

Yes, lets have a pier in Bexhill. It's a nice idea, but I rather think the cost of building one would be horrendous, and would not be financially viable.
Then there is the possibility that "they" would be responsible for its usage, and we may have even more "art exhibitions" in Bexhill, in harmony with the DLWP.
