The offices and printing presses for the Bexhill Observer used to be very close to the cinema. I am not sure if they were right next door though.

According to the 1974 Kelly's Directory, no 28 is listed as Edgar Logan & Andrew, solicitor & clerk to the justices for Hastings Borough and Bexhill Division. No 28-36 is the Bexhill Observer Offices. Albert Eldridge is also listed at no 28 at The Flat, Observer Buildings. So it looks like Sheevee was right.
