Hi I am looking for further information about Northeye Abbey Ruins which is marked on a 16th century map. Does anyone know more - are any ruins still visable there or do paintings or photos exist?
Thanks
Jill

Hi Jill, I've just typed your title into a search engine and it gives lots of results, most of which are relevant.

Hi Rod thanks for that. There is an 18th cent line drawing but location wise although I've walked extensively around the area marked on map it quite vague. I now it was close to bridge over sluice but whether close means 100 metres or half a mile - who knows. Nothing obvious on satellite images either. I spoke to one chap living in Westham who remebers his grandad telling stories of playong at the site when he was a child and apparently some stone work was still visable then. Today there just doesn't seem to be any thing obvious. Anymore info at all greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jill
