Don't be lonely

posted by Christina Chinn on 01 Dec 2013 at 2:21 pm

Hi, I run one of Bexhill's daycentres for mature residents. Many are living longer so find themselves alone, out living their friends and often family.

Being isolated by disability is also a problem. This does not have to be the case. All of the daycentres have vacancies and for £13 provide escorted transport, a two course meal, hot drinks with biscuits and cakes, plus entertainment weekly. Trips out are arranged when possible.

Our group The Nan Wilding Daycentre this year have had two meals out, an old time music hall.a red nose day fund raiser, ice creams on galley hill, a garden party, quizzes, and various games. this week we have carol singers followed next week by our Christmas party.

If you think you or someone you know would benefit from this service please call in at Bexhill Caring Community for information. Leah will furnish you with any information you need.
Have a good Christmas and I hope to meet some of you in the New Year. Chris Chinn
