Bexhill Cinema

Does anyone remember the name of the cinema in Town Hall Square? I remember the Ritz in Buckhurst Road and the Playhouse in Western Road but the name of the one in the Square eludes me.
Can anyone help please? The site is now the Beer Garden of the Pub.

Hi. In this article, about two thirds of the way down, there is mention of St George's Cinema, formerly The Bijou, as occupying that space:

I think the old cinema in town hall square was called The Savoy .It was pretty rough

I thought it was the Savoy - when I went there in the fifties. I saw Ivanhoe starrring Elizabeth Taylor and Robert Taylor. Admission for a child was about ninepence! Old money.

My wife recalls it once being called The Carlton but apparently it burnt down in a fire
