Parking In Bexhill

posted by steven on 10 Mar 2016 at 11:05 am

I've been a resident in Bexhill for just over 5 years, and the parking is getting worse, you drive around and around finding that spot,
Surely something needs to be done in our small town, there's a enough space possibly a MULTI STOREY car park, somewhere so we can all fit. As everywhere is a nightmare, and the what with the link road and access road being and been built then that will draw more people to the town, and we need more parking!!
If anyone agrees please leave a comment........

Multi Story Parking

Bexhill should have had a multi story many years ago on the sainsburys carpark site indeed that was in the original plans and one of the main reasons planning was given to develop the site but strangely once it was built no multi story mmmmmm very strange says I, I wonder how that happened, there was supposed to be a walk way across to what was Perrings on the other side of the tracks as well , funnily enough that never got built either :-)

Yes Dave I've heard through the grape vine that something was meant to be built on the Sainsburys site, maybe they could build one where the grand hotel was in sea road, as its just Barron land at the moment, parking in bexhill is a major problem, as everyone that commutes to London parks on the seafront, taking up more spaces for people who come for day trips, - So a multi storey car park would solve all our problems,

Empty Car Park

I park in the car park at Wainwright Rd, which is a few minutes walk from Sackville Rd and the shops. It costs a £1.00 for the whole day. I am often the only car in there! However I do think the alleyway that is a 'cut through' onto the main road needs some attention, it's very overgrown. But to walk the longer way takes 2 minutes more.
I don't really see how Rother can justify the idea of a multi storey car park when the existing car park is so underused.

Car Parks

Yes sue I agree about the car park in wainwright road, and I agree about the overgrown path joining the main road, surely the council can clear the path, or have they forgotten its there,
And everyone tries to find that one space in town. And I personally think bexhill needs a multi storey park. Doesn't have to be that high but as long as it holds say 200 cars/veichles, that would reduce the amount of parking in the town. And ease congestion on busy weekends/bank holidays/Christmas times,
