I've been a carer for 18 years for my disabled / autistic children and for the last year and a half, much longer really, also had responsibility for my mother who has dementia. But you still get the comments - You should be at work. So what do people think, is being a carer equal to doing a paid job?

After 20 years, and as most activity has moved to other platforms such as Facebook Groups, we have made the decision to close the message board. We are no longer accepting new posts.
All existing threads have been preserved in a read-only archive. In accordance with our obligations under UK GDPR, we have removed all email addresses and personal contact information from our records, and no longer have the means of contacting any former posters.
