Firefighters During WW2

posted by David Gower on 19 Nov 2016 at 1:12 pm

My father served in the Auxiliary Fire Brigade (which was absorbed into the National Fire Brigade) over the period '39 to '45.
Although I remember him going off in his uniform I have no photographic record of him or of his colleagues. Does anyone have relatives who might have served with him over that period who has photographs of Bexhill Fire Station personnel at that time?

Hi David

My grandfather was a firefighter for Bexhill fire brigade in the war, although I don't have a photo dating back that far there was a presentation made to him and some other fire fighters approximately 30 years ago. I have a photo of him with these gentlemen at the presentation, I am happy to share it if you think this is would help you.
