St Frances School For Girls

I attended St Frances School from 1948 -1952 & remember Miss Fulford very well, also Miss Tucknott & Mrs. Portch who taught Drama.I remember sliding down the bannisters of the grand staircase on the last day of term, pupils had to use the back stairs! Cecily Elsworth was head girl. My class consisted of Ann Bailey, Elizabeth Barnes, Jill Cottrell, Gillian Davis, Jessica Dent, Gillian Foote, Joan Geldard, Audrey Glover, Madeline Kimber, Mary Ogden, Judy Pamment & Ann Williams. We had to answer to the register without our names called out so that is how I remember my class so well. Our form teacher was Miss Colpoise who taught games.
Julie Christie ( Actress who won an Oscar ) was a couple of years lower. I also knew Sylvia & Carol Godfrey & Yvonne Porch. I remember each child had a piece of garden & were encouraged to bring plants from home.

Hi Vesta. I too attended Fanny's later on. I was friends with both Sylvia and Carol Godfrey and wonder if you are in contact, also looking for news of Antonia McArthy, would be grateful if you can help me.

Hoping you may have any knowledge of either Sylvia or Carol Godfrey, also Antonia McCarthy, Teresa O’ Meara and Carol Piggot, I think Teresa and/or Carol May still live in the Bexhill area
