"Dr" John Drewe

Has anyone got any light to shed on Dr Drewe (as he called himself) who taught physics in 1970? It seems he was a con-man of epic proportions who had no physics qualifications and went on to "a despicable fraudster" according to his trial judge. Seemed like an OK bloke to me.
