Does anyone know what the original use of the concrete bunker type structure was, located on Upper Sea Road just up the hill from Buckhurst Road? I notice it’s been taped of and boarded up a number of times recently and it seems to have been originally built into the bank.

public surface air raid shelter dug into the roadside bank in Upper Sea Road. Not surprisingly, the two entrances are blocked, opening directly onto a busy road.
