Hi there ..... I just wondered if this Theodore Fleming was in any way related to Alexander Fleming, the scientist responsible for penicillin? I ask because my grandmother, who lived in Bexhill most of her life, used to go to tea with a Fleming family who she said at one point were related to Alexander Fleming. Never proved it though .... she died in 1979 aged 99 and a bit. Just wondered if you knew anything about this ..... Regards Mike Parmley

Michael, TVF was a likeable rogue and a great character. My husband's grandfather. He was more than likely to say that he was related to Alexander Fleming without any proof whatsoever

however, he ran away from school to fight in the boer War at 17 and joined the NWMP in Canda afterwards. Was CO of the POW camp at Battle and won the Military Cross during the Great War

Jane
I lived next door to Pat and Trudy and remember wondering whether to believe his stories. My mother was a great friend of Trudy's. I also went to school with Nicholas (your husband). I would very much like to catch up with him if you could ask him to get in touch.
Kind regards
