Merland House School, Dorset Road

My sister & I were at this school for 1 year around 1953-54. This is the school's name according to my father's application for UK citizenship (we were refugees from Poland).
Unfortunately, not a happy time for either of us but I suppose I'm just curious about what happened to it & does the building still exist. There are a couple of planning applications after this date converting schools in the road to either a nursing home or children's home.
Does anyone know anything about this school?

School has gone now its been replaced by a nursing home. The address was 130 Dorset Road, i was there from 64/67.
