Reeves Family

posted by Joan on 19 Aug 2021 at 11:50 am

I am wondering if anyone remembers the Reeves family who lived at 11 Reginald Road, Bexhill. They were there in 1939, and the family consisted of Lawrence Reeves who was in his 50's and was a gardener, his wife Annie, and a 16-year-old daughter Elizabeth (known as Joyce by her family). They had another daughted Sheila, she would have been about 10 at that time but she wasn't present when the 1939 census was taken. Annie died in 1955 and it is possible that Lawrence went into a home, but I believe Elizabeth (Joyce) stayed at that house until she died in 1980. The reason I am asking is that Lawrence was my grandad's brother, they were quite a large family and I knew many of them as a child, but I never met Lawrence or his wife or daughters, and I would like to know more about them. In particular I wonder what happened to Sheila. If anyone has any memories of them I would love to hear about them.
