Social Clubs in Bexhill

posted by Roy on 11 Feb 2009 at 5:26 pm

My friend (A 61 yr old unattached male = Mentally still a teenager and proably always will be!) has just moved to Bexhill.
I would like to get some informaton for him to make his move there easier. He is too busy setting up his new flat to be able to think about starting his new life yet.
He is a 'Gentleman' who is chatty, fun loving and likes company.
Could anyone recommend a good social club in the Bexhill area where he can meet nice people?
Thanks Roy.

Social Clubs

Hi Roy,

There are several clubs in Bexhill:
Albatross Club - for ex-RAF although I believe they do accept non-RAF.
Royal British Legion
Waterfront Club - when I enquired recently they did have a waiting list
Conservative Club
Sailing Club - I don't think you have to sail

There's also a variety of other specialised clubs eg bowls, photographic etc, many of them are listed on this website.

I think your friend will find that most people in Bexhill are very welcoming and he'll make new friends very quickly.

Hi Jude (Am old enough to think: Hey Jude also!)
I will tell my friend to look at this site to get some ideas.
I am sure he will make some very good friends in Bexhill. He is a good mixer and likes good fun company. I hope that whatever club he decides on will have a few single lady members. If so, I am sure he will settle in nicely.
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
Roy.

Theres a quiz every thursday evening and many more social events /discos throughout the year, St georges, Burns night xnmas panto, new year eve party, halloween fancy dress etc to name but a few. Hi Tony
How do I go about joining the club? I'm not a rower, but would welcome the chance to join a local good social club...

How About Playing Bowls?

posted by vera sweeney on 28 Feb 2011 at 7:19 pm

Hello Roy
I would like to suggest a very friendly group of people in Bexhill and that is Gullivers Bowls Club. In March this year we have organised a regular Saturday morning introduction to the very enjoyable game of lawn bowls. We have an indoor club as well as outdoor. These sessions in March are planned with the idea of helping people to get started for the new Summer season. The club is in Knole Road. Bexhill. If you would like to email me I will give you more details and contact telephone numbers.
It is a very sociable game whether you are a couple or a single person, there are many friends waiting to welcome you. Don't worry if you haven't any bowls, we have some you can use to see if you like the game.
Hope to here from you.
Vera
