Hello, can anyone tell what the company Messrs Longley and Co, Bexhill was during 1962 please? I can't find anything on internet other than a mention of the name but I don't know what they did.

Hi. Memory not as good as was. I would have been around 17 in 1962. If i remember correctly Longley were either in Western Road Right hand side going up from Library end or in Devonshire Road on left hand side going from top of western road to sea front..
i believe they were a haberdashery shop selling curtains , cushions etc and were fairly expensive although i might be wrong there. Hope that may help you a bit and maybe jog a few other memories from others. Best of luck in your search.

Hi Bob,longleys had shop in Devonshire Rd 51-63 selling ladies & children's outfitters,soft furnishings, carpets,lino&linens&cafe also had shop in St Leonards Rd 8&10 they where also funeral directors.

Hi Phil thanks for info and filling in blanks in my memory hope it helps the lady who was asking about Longleys. Had completely forgotten about them being a funeral directors as well. Think the other shop i must have had in mind was probably Goffins or similar name. Once again many thanks.
