Jobs For Young People

posted by christian on 17 Mar 2009 at 4:45 pm

There arent enough jobs for young people this is beacause of all the restrictions and difficultys of employing young people(13-16 year olds). I think there should be paid jobs for young people put aside by the council, just for 13-16 year olds.

You are right there is a shortage of employment for people of that age, however here is my advise, enjoy being kids and teens as long as you can because once you start working for a living then things are much different,Kids are in such a rush to grow up that they miss out on some of the best years of your lives, slow down and enjoy it while you can.

Young people need experience of jobs so they know what they would like to do in the future. Many Teenagers need money for socializing, saving up and also a job is keeping young teens busy. yes enjoy being kids but there is a point when youre a teen and you want to get a job to keep you busy instead of being bored. e.g summer holidays. i myself are always looking for jobs because i want to be occupied and want to earn money so i think there should be jobs-even just small ones will do for teenagers.

My Opinion

I have been trying my best to build up my CV and I do so much volunteer work at the moment that I could actually do with getting paid for what I do. I live in Lower early I'm 14 as of the 3rd August 2009. I would really like a job, it looks great on your CV to have had some form of reponsibility at a young age. I need money as I have been spending to much on the phone bill - my dad is forver telling me I'm trying to grow up to quickly, but also that I need to undersand responsibility. I would like a chance to prove work woulden't ruin anything.

I know what you mean, i would love to do a job because it's good to have some experience. But i just can't find anything on the internet, especially not in Bexhill. It's so hard to find jobs for like 13-14 year olds now:/

Jobs!

Im 12 and i know thats too young to get a job but teens should be able to as it would give them something to work for so when theyre older they can know what a real paid job pays and it would get them ready for when they properly start work. But the main thing is, people always underestimate teenagers so much, because really theyre just as responsible as adults, maybe even sometimes more. Thanks:)

Hi,

I find summer an hectic time for growing up kids, especially in the age bracket12- 16 as there is nothing much to do. please if there are any volunteering opportunities or activities where they can take part , it will keep them occupied and will also learn a skill.

please suggest if they know any.

Volunteering For Young People

In reply to Susan, I am looking for groups of young people in this area who would like to set up their own club, group, activiity, event, project etc. My role as a Neighbourhood Enabler is to support them in getting things up and running.
So if any young people are interested and have a great idea, just email me on pete@hastingstrust.co.uk or call on 07534 509692 and lets see if we can make your idea happen. We can take it a step at a time
(Even if you dont have a great idea but are keen to get involved, I can help you with that as well).
This means that groups of young people will volunteer on their own project which can be a lot of fun. New skills will be learnt, young people will be allowed to take responsibilty for what they do and we at Neighbourhood Enablers can supply training around project managemnet and anything else that crops up along the way.
Please note that there will be money available soon for youth led projects and I can advise on how to bid for this.
Parents are actively encouraged to support young people in their projects

Pete Relf
Neighbourhood Enablers
